The film feature Erin (Drew Barrymore) and Garrett (Justin Long) who are currently in a long distance relationship as Erin moved out to San Francisco to finish her last year of school and Garrett stays in Manhattan to continue his career and try to earn a promotion he has been promised. Armed with some frequent flyer miles and a web cam the couple try to overcome a myriad of obstacles including bad advice from friends, miscommunication and the invasion of desperate singles who wont take no for an answer. Just as the nightmare seems finally over Erin manages to score her dream job, the only problem is that it's in California. Can their love truly go the distance?
